If you’re a history buff, then no trip to Turkey would be complete without seeing Bursa, the first capital of the Ottoman Empire.
The Ottoman Empire was one of the largest empires in history, making Bursa a place of great significance. Situated 3 hours from Istanbul, the 4th biggest city in Turkey can be found on the slopes of Mount Uludağ. It is known as Yeşil Bursa, or Green Bursa, thanks to the beautiful parks and gardens that are scattered around the city.
Your journey to Bursa will begin with 07:00 with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Istanbul. Following the drive to Bursa, you will spend some time sightseeing on foot and learning interesting facts about this interesting city, such as why it is famous for its peaches, chestnuts and silk industry.
After stopping in a local restaurant for lunch (included), the tour continues around the city untul dusk. Along the way you’ll see historic monuments such as Muradiye, the Mausoleums of Osman and Orhan Bey, the Grand Mosque, the Green Mosque, Koza Han, the Covered Bazaar and more.
With a full-day of sightseeing under your belt, we’ll take you back to your hotel in Istanbul.
