My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour! Our guide, Tuncer, is passionate and knowledgable about his country’s history and culture. His comical and energetic disposition made what was an extremely hot day an enjoyable experience. I hope that one day he will consider being a history teacher because he would absolutely keep his students engaged.

Your tour will begin in Taksim Square, the heart of Istanbul and home to one of the oldest metro lines in the world—Marvel at the grand hotels and historic monuments.

You will then continue to Istiklal Street, an elegant and vibrant pedestrian zone, filled with shops, cafes and historic buildings. See the grand European embassies, churches and mosques on this nearly two-mile avenue.

With your guide, explore some of the small side streets filled with bookstores, galleries and pubs. Sit down at one of the many cafés and enjoy a traditional Turkish coffee.

He was a very competent and knowledgeable guide. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Istanbul and the individual districts of the city. Despite my walking disability, we were able to complete the tour to the end because he adjusted the pace accordingly. It was very interesting for both of us. I can only recommend the tour.
