What to Expect
Famous as the site of the Temple of Artemis, one of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World, and for housing one of the 7 churches named in the Book of Revelations, Ephesus is an historic and sacred destination waiting to be explored.

On this 2-day bus tour from Istanbul you will visit the extraordinary site, and continue to the thermal springs of Pamukkale to gaze at an extraordinary landscape of stalactite formations, and visit the thermal pools and ruins of the ancient city of Hierapolis.

Day 1
Arrive on the night bus from Istanbul at Kuşadası, birthplace of Homer, departure point for the ruins of Ephesus, and location for your 4-star accommodation for your overnight stay. One of the 12 cities of the Ionian League during the classical Greek period, Ephesus was also home to one of the “7 Churches of Anatolia (Asia)” cited in the Book of Revelation.

Visit the Greco-Roman city and stroll down Marble Street, past the Odeon, the Bouleterion, and the Temple of Hadrian and Serapis. See the Agora and the superb Library of Celsus. Pause at the Great Theatre, the Double Church, the Gate of Magnesia, and the magnificent Arcadian Way.

Continue to the last abode of the Virgin Mary at Mount Solmissos, and stop for lunch at the picturesque village of Selçuk. Continue after lunch to İsabey Mosque, one of the oldest and most impressive works of architectural art remaining from the Anatolian Beyliks.

Visit the Ephesus Archaeological Museum, and the famous Temple of Artemis, one of the “7 Wonders of the Ancient World.”

Return to Kuşadası for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2
Drive to Pamukkale (Cotton Castle) to visit the spectacular natural springs and stalactite formations near Denizli. Unique in the world, the hot spring waters have carved fantastic stalactite formations in the rocks over many centuries.

Used since Roman times for their therapeutic powers, the thermal waters are situated on a glorious plateau, where you will visit the thermal center with its motels, thermal pools, and the ruins of the ancient city of Hierapolis.

Discover the monuments of Hierapolis, including the ancient thermal baths that have now been restored and converted into a fascinating archaeological museum.
