Currently, only the lower floor of Osborne House is open for visitors to view. See where the royal children played house and tended their own gardens down at the Swiss Cottage. There's a room dressed as it was on 11th July 1861, when the children prepared afternoon tea for their parents, not long before Prince Albert's tragic death.  Stroll in the pleasure gardens, alongside historic trees, and enjoy the Victorian Walled Garden much as the royal couple did. Take a trip down to the royal family's once jealously guarded private beach, with Victoria's restored bathing machine.

We just arrived at the opening time and there were no queue. The staff was lovely and willing to help or answer any questions. We had plenty of time to explore the inside and I do recommend you to spend time outside as the ground is fantastic, from the rhododendron walk to the beach. There are plenty of space to relax, sit and enjoy. I would have loved more diversity in term of lunch choices, but you do have a, soup and sandwiches available.

The whole experience at osbourne house was amazing. We had such a good day. We were only sad not to get to the S cottage, nor to see the kitchens and nursery in the house .

Osborne House was a beautiful place to visit. The gardens and grounds were lovely and very well-kept, and the house itself was very interesting. A great experience!
