Full description

Your tour departs Inverness before traveling north, up to Loch Fleet to the village of Golspie. The village, situated on the north sea coast is nestled next to Ben Bhraggie and is an attractive little seaside resort complete with long sandy beaches.

You will be able to spend time here for refreshments, before continuing on to Dunrobin Castle. A stately home in Sutherland, Dunrobin Castle is the family seat of Clan Sutherland. It resembles a French chateau with it’s towering spires, and overlooks the Moray Firth. You will spend time here exploring the beautiful stately home whilst enjoying some refreshments. You will then continue north through the Helmsdale Clearance to the Highland town of Wick for your lunch break. A former Viking settlement, Wick is the principal town in the far north of mainland Scotland.

You can spend time exploring the town and taking in the views across Wick Bay whilst you enjoy your lunch. From Wick, you will then travel to John O’Groats; the most northerly point on British mainland. Here you’ll be able to stroll along the cliff path, take iconic photos at the signpost, and enjoy dramatic coastal views, perhaps even seeing some local wildlife!

From John O’Groats, you will begin to make your way back to Inverness. You will travel to Dunbeath Harbor for photos, and to Brora, famous for its golf courses and magnificent coastal scenery.

Did this tour yesterday taking in Dornoch, beautiful Dunrobin Castle and a falconry display ( which was amazing) Helmsdale and the Emigrant Statue, Wick ( where for a small extra charge lunch is arranged) the Stacks, John O Groats and the chance to see a Scottish Broch. Lovely tour with Malcolm who was brillient, informative and engaging commentary. Did his very best so we could see as much as possible. We stopped at a lovely beach too where you can have a fresh crab sandwich if you're a bit peckish!

Great trip Julian the driver was very informative & helpful, very nice to see Dunrobin castle and Gardens. We then went to Wick were we saw the outdoor swimming pools by the sea before making our way to John O'groats where we had plenty of time for a bit of lunch & a look around. We went to a lovely beach before pasing through Thurso and making our way home.

It was a fabulous experience! The trip is done in a small group, our guide Marita was very cheerful and dynamic and we had a great day! The program varied slightly from what was announced, but for the better: instead of going to the beach (it was a bit ugly) we went to see magnificent and very well preserved Cairns which we were able to enter! As we took this tour around April/May we were also lucky enough to see seals and puffins, as well as an impressive falconry show at the castle. Thank you very much to our guide! :)
