Full description

Depart from a central meeting point in Inverness, where you will meet your guide and board the mini-bus. First, stop at Eilean Donan Castle and take plenty of photos as you admire the majestic beauty of this iconic sight in its wonderful coastal location.

Upon arrival in Portree, make your way to the harbor viewpoint where you can see the pretty pastel-colored houses. Enjoy a short stop here, where you can also purchase a light lunch. Next, stop at a loch-side viewpoint, and discover the unique rock formation of the Old Man of Storr. See the 50-meter high pinnacle that juts out from the Trotternish Ridge and is recognizable from blockbuster films including Ronin 47, Snow White & The Huntsman, Prometheus, and The BFG.

Continue to Kilt Rock, an exposed sea cliff that resembles the traditional Highland kilt. Be amazed by the imposing waterfall that cascades 60ft (180m) into the Sound of Raasay below. Continue to the Fairy Pools, a series of crystal clear waterfalls and pools surrounded by the stunning backdrop of the Cuillin Mountain. Finally, stop for some photos of Urquhart Castle and Loch Ness. Admire the sight of the castle on a distinctive peninsula jutting out onto the mysterious Loch Ness, before heading back to Inverness.

Gregor, our driver, was amazing. He was not only knowledge about the areas we visited, but there were numerous songs that went along with his knowledge of the area's history. I highly recommend this trip. We actually were able to make a few unexpected stops that were a nice surprise!

This was by far my favorite tour during my trip. Shelby was so much fun, a very animated and active guide, we loved her energy! Please note: waterproof/good sturdy shoes are needed for this tour! When we went to the Fairy Pools, it was full on raining and the hike was very mucky, but definitely worth sloshing through the mud- the most gorgeous views ever! You also get an opportunity to order lunch ahead to pick up in Portree, I would HIGHLY recommend this so you have time to explore the cute village! This tour was a 10/10, I highly recommend it for the adventurous soul!

Shelly (her name sounds like this, not 100% sure) made me understand that the Scots haven't forgotten their language, culture and history and they are proud about them. She is the best tour guide I have ever seen. During the 12-hour journey, she introduced her hometown with enthusiasm and told stories one by one. At least for me, a foreign scottish nationalist, her passion is very attractive to me. A very careful point is that she used a map to draw the route and itinerary of the whole day, which place we saw something, and what music we heard from local bands. This detail was very good. She gave us an extra photo stop at Urquhart Castle on my request when time was allowed. Many thanks!
