Located northwest of the town of Maras known by some as “salt mines” are made up of about 3000 small wells. The salt has been obtained since pre-Hispanic times through a system of drying salt water that comes from a subway stream in the sun. Once the water has evaporated, the salt is ready for sale. We had the pleasure of having Leonel as our guide at Machu Picchu, and he truly made the experience unforgettable. From the very beginning, Leonel was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and patient. He explained the history, architecture, and cultural significance of the site with so much passion and clarity that it brought the ruins to life. Leonel took the time to answer all our questions and even helped us find the best photo spots without rushing us. His deep respect for the Incan heritage and connection to the land was evident throughout the tour. We also appreciated how he made the visit engaging for both adults and children in our group. If you are planning a trip to Machu Picchu, I highly recommend requesting Leonel as your guide. His professionalism, friendliness, and insight will elevate your entire experience. Thank you, Leonel, for making our visit so special!

Excellent value for money. Guide and driver both excellent and good at trying to keep everyone on time. Saw so many things in one day. I would have preferred if we hadn't stopped at the beginning and end of the day at shops (textiles and jewelry). That time would have been much better used at the sites since that's really why most of us are on the tour and time at each place was so short.

If you don't feel like running around to see the whole Cuzco region, I recommend this activity, which is a real MUST. We were able to discover the entire Sacred Valley in one day. The guide was great, and we learned lots of interesting facts about the region and the Incas.

The day trip was fantastic. Seeing four extraordinary sites in one day was very impressive. If we had had more time, we could have seen much more. Unfortunately, there was little legroom on the bus, which is very tiring on such a long trip.
