The walking tour begins at the former Puerto Plata train station and leads to one of the city's most historic squares: the Fortelaza San Felipe. From the fortress that once protected the city, the route leads to the photo spot on the city's most important street, the "Malecon" promenade. From here, the route leads directly into the old town, where a small pedestrian zone and the renowned Monsenor cigar factory await us with a short tour. With a typical Dominican ice cream, we head to the center of the city - Independance Park with the town hall and San Felipe Cathedral. After a short stop at Island Treasures, where you can buy souvenirs and small gifts, we head to the city's most famous squares: the all-pink "Paseo Dona Blanca" and the street of umbrellas. Once the photos have been taken, it's time to let your taste buds do the talking: at "La Chocolateria" you will learn all about the cultivation and production of Dominican chocolate, including snacking, of course. The last point of the tour takes you to the DomRep's most famous export product, the rum producer Macorix. In the Macorix Museum, you will learn all about the production and history of the company, including a tasting of course. Our tour ends after around 4 hours at the Macorix Museum.

For the tour, we will pick you up directly from your accommodation: from anywhere in the Puerto Plata / Sosua / Cabarete area. These 3 towns are our highlights for the evening - we will spend some time in each of them. In Puerto Plata, the biggest attractions in the evening are the nicely lit old town and the Malecon waterfront boulevard - a gathering place for locals. We'll take a stroll through the market with the cathedral, the Street of Umbrellas, the Pink Street and to the bay, where the fortress of St. Philip stands. Along the way we can sip cuba libre on a good rum. If you feel like it, we can join the folk feasting at the Malecon for a bit - everyone is welcome there. The highlights of this party are the Dominican music, the rum and of course the people :) The next stop on our night tour is the town of Sosua. Known especially for its bars and pubs, this is the place where nightlife thrives! We'll take a stroll here, or sit down for a beer or a drink if you have the desire. Finally, we will reach Cabarete, the last town on our route. By day it's a center for water sports, especially kite surfing. At night, on the other hand, the beach in Cabarete turns into a lively seaside boulevard. Here you will find restaurants, bars and discos right on the sand, under the palm trees. Now it is only the only vestige of Puerto Plata's colonial past. In the fortress, you can walk between its walls and see the moat that surrounds them. Inside there is a small museum with some historical pieces. Although the most attractive of this place is the lighthouse of Puerto Plata, which dates from 1876, and which is more than 24 m high. Residents of Puerto Plata proudly claim that theirs is the most beautiful boulevard (Malecón) in the Dominican Republic.
