Trou d'Eau Douce: Southeast Coast Island Adventure

2. Trou d'Eau Douce: Southeast Coast Island Adventure

Embark on a trip to the Blue Bay by speedboat and visit the entirety of Mauritius' southeast coast and the nearby islands in one day. The tour includes not only a visit to the famous Ile aux Cerfs island and the pristine cascade of the Grande River South East, but also to Ile aux Phares and Ile de la Passe, providing an opportunity to learn a bit of the history of Mauritius in the colonial period. The site of Ile aux Phares is where, as the name suggests, an old lighthouse dating back more than 200 years stands, now declared a historical monument. In 1810, Ile aux Phares and Ile de la Passe were the theater of a battle between the French and the British, known as the naval battle of Grand Port, which is the only victory of the Napoleonic Navy and is also listed on the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. In addition to the historic aspect of the islands, you will be made privy to a striking sight within the water. The contrast between both sides of the island is breathtaking: on one side you will find the lagoon turquoise and calm, and on the other, the big waves of the Indian Ocean smash against the breakers of the island. You will then go to Ile aux Aigrettes for a swim then back to Ile aux Cerfs, where lunch will be served. Relax and sunbathe or just chill out on the beach or in the crystal clear water of Ile aux Cerfs before returning to the meeting point in Trou d'Eau Douce.

I can’t recommend this tour and company more! From the minute we reached out to set it up, Genaro and his team ensured we had a memorable experience. The boat was beautiful and well kept and the crew was unbelievably friendly! We had Ashley and Joel as our captains - who turned up the music, filled our glasses with rum and set sail for all that Mauritius had to offer. We stopped off to climb the lighthouse island, snorkeled among great wildlife and ate an incredible lunch on an island before boating to a waterfall. It was a truly unforgettable experience and we can’t wait to go back and do another tour with them.

Was a great day out, fun, informative and we saw everything we wanted too. The weather wasn’t great but it didn’t spoil it form being a fantastic trip. The boat was clean and well kept and the bar be que lunch was one of the best we have had on these kinds of trips. Music was great and there was plenty of drinks including rum if you wanted it. The colour of of sea is stunning! The crew were great and had great chat and made us smile all day - even in the rain! The trip is great but they make it even better!

Excellent trip. GetYourGuide states that there are some pick-up points not included in the booking. Ignore this, the local guide confirmed that all locations on the island are included.

Very nice excursion. Deer Island is sublime… It's very nice to see the other islands. The staff are friendly and the food is great. I recommend.

Really great day with many beautiful Islands and a good Captain. The Tour is not starting from the restaurant.
