Enjoy a 3 hours short tour of Iasi, the most impressive city in North-East of Romania and get an idea of the beauty and history of this city. This walking tour is the best way to start exploring on your own! From the Copou Park to the Palace of Culture.
What to Expect
We start the tour at the Copou Park with the Monument with Lions and the Lime of Eminescu. We continue towards the University - the oldest one in Romania - where we enter to visit the Room of the Lost Steps and the historic Grand Hall.
A few steps away, we get to the antique shop of Mr. Dumitru Grumazescu - the place which inspired the Shakespeare book store in Paris. With a bit of luck, Mr. Grumazescu himself will be at home to show us the wonderful treasures he hides in his store.
We pass py the Museum of the Union and enter the Grand Hotel Traian, opened in 1882 and designed by Gustave Eiffel himself.
At the exit, we will find ourselves in the Unirii Square, the historic centre of the former capital of the province of Moldova. Following the Stefan cel Mare Boulevard, we will stop next to the Metropolitan Orthodox Cathedral, the Catholic Cathedral, The "Trei Ierarhi" Cathedral and The National Theatre "Vasile Alecsandri". We detour for the Golia Monastery
We end our tour at the Palace of Culture, next to the shopping area of Palas.
