Full description

Climb aboard a traditional Icelandic oak boat and experience a traditional whale watching tour from Europe's whale watching capital at Húsavík. Keep warm and dry with the use of high-quality overalls and raincoats.

Sail out into the bay and prepare to be captivated by the work of Mother Nature. Your specialized guide will give a safety demonstration on board the boat and then feed you live commentary on all the sights you will encounter. Skjálfandi Bay is known for its rich wildlife, including numerous types, shapes and sizes of whale. Keep a look out for the acrobatic humpback whales and giant blue whales. This is wild nature and therefore unpredictable, but your chances of seeing whales in their natural environment is very high. Sail back to Húsavík harbor and enjoy the stunning scenery.

We did see whales, despite the low probability of seeing them. The size of the boat and the swell made us a little seasick (a 3 hour outing is perhaps a little too long) Unfortunately, there were too many of us on the boat, which prevented us from fully enjoying the activity

It was a great experience. We saw some humpback whales which were very impressive. The captain also tried very hard to bring us as close as possible to the animals. The only downside: all in all, 3 hours were a bit long, considering the waves (depending on the weather) and the outside temperature. 2-2.5 hours would have been enough.

The tour was amazing! Everything went smoothly. The tour lasted about 3 hours. There were some whales to be seen (see my IG Reel @sanibkc) It was extremely cold on the ship, despite several layers and overalls provided, but that's just for info because some were there with sneakers and ankle-free pants ;-)
