This tour was definitely a highlight of our trip to Iceland! Our guide was amazing and he told us that they had spotted a place with lots of whales the same morning! We saw more than 10 hampback whales! It was absolutely amazing. We were all very quite, watching the whales diving and showing us their tails! Very emotional moment, I almost cried! On the way back they offered us hot cacao and cinnamon rolls to warm up. We felt blessed for this experience!

I went alone on this trip in winter time, you are provided with two layers of water-resistant coveralls, and long as you have a decent pair of gloves, you'll soon forget how cold the weather is. I found that our guide gave us lots of information about the types and number of whales in the area as well as some background about the port we departed from, the captain of the ship was able to position the boat in in good places for us to get really close-up to the whales. They also provide a cinnamon bun and a cup of hot chocolate for the journey back to the harbour.

Interesting journey of searching for whales. Boat was big and very traditional. Our guide was very informative, he knew a lot of about whales, seemed like they are his passion. We saw dolphins and two kind of whales, one of which really big, did fountains and showed his tale. On our way back we enjoyed hot chocolate and cinnamon buns. Recommended to do for sure!
