Full description
The original whale watching tour is now available carbon neutral. The local tour operator has adopted an active environmental policy based on the idea of sustainable development. In 2015, it became the first whale watching company in the world to offer carbon neutral whale watching. In cooperation with some other actors, a unique hybrid propulsion system that allows running the ship on renewable energy instead of fossil fuel has been developed.  Experience the tour on a carbon neutral boat and discover the magnificent nature of Skjálfandi Bay observing whales, dolphins and seabirds in their natural habitat. Enjoy smooth sailing and treat yourself to a cup of hot cocoa and cinnamon buns. Join the tour and enjoy an authentic wildlife adventure with the pioneers of whale watching in Iceland.

We had a beautiful day of calm sea and sun that allowed us to spot dolphins and a whale. We were lucky and it was beautiful. The guide is a well-trained and kind marine biologist like the rest of the staff of the fishing boat who, upon arrival, gives you the protective gear of a sailor, which is then made very useful. We recommend it. It is a wonderful activity, even if due to a breakdown we could not go on the zero-emission boat. Finally, they hand out hot chocolate and cinnamon sweets.

The tour was super nice and is definitely to be recommended. The boat was partly covered, which is a real advantage when it rains, especially when you are traveling with children. Warm overalls and rain capes were provided. Our guide was a biologist and a specialist and provided interesting background information, was super nice and answered all questions in detail. The kids even got a second helping of hot chocolate and delicious cinnamon rolls. We saw three different humpback whales and dolphins and the crew went to two different spots to see different animals as well. We had three wonderful hours at sea and were gifted with a rainbow at the end. Great experience! Thanks!

Excellent experience! We were very spoiled. We had booked 10 to 15 days before our visit for the 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. slot in an eco-responsible electric boat. What a pleasure to leave the port without the smell of fuel oil and without disturbing the whales thanks to the electric motor. The weather was cloudy but with very good visibility and above all a calm sea. We were well covered thanks to the lent fleece suits but the temperatures were mild. Very good guide knowing perfectly the life of marine animals and birds. We saw about ten whales, 2 or 3 of which were very close, as well as a few dolphins and puffins. Snack on the way back. The success of this walk is linked to the weather conditions. When stopping for whale watching in rough seas, the boat may pitch, so it is best to have sea legs. Finally, whale watching is random and depends on nature. Highly recommended outing.
