What to Expect

Following an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Hurghada, transfer by private air-conditioned minivan. Experience everyday life in Egypt on the 4-hour drive along the Nile River in Upper Egypt.
Continue to Luxor to meet your Egyptologist guide. Your 1st stop will be Karnak Temple, still remarkably intact after thousands of years. Admire stunning hieroglyphs and paintings, along with numerous churches, temples and statues. Take an optional tour of the sacred scarab near the lake; if you go around him 3 times in a clockwise direction you will soon return, according to legend.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, before crossing the West Bank to the Valley of the Dead. Stop at the pillars of the Colossi of Memnon, and marvel at the gigantic statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, guardian of the mortuary temple complex. On arrival at the Valley of the Kings, see the tombs and mortuary sanctuary of some of the most famous figures of the pharaonic period. Descend into the tombs of Egyptian rulers to see well-preserved paintings and hieroglyphics.
