The highlight of our holiday and another tick on the bucket list. The Egyptologist was fantastic and essentially ran the trip in Luxor as the drivers didn't speak much English. Expect the usual pestering by traders which was intense at times. Lunch was very good and far better than expected Have some small change ready for the toilet stops. Banana island was a real disappointment and we would have prefered to stay on the boat Well organised and would recommend

Full description

Get in the air-conditioned minivan at your hotel and then drive from Hurghada to Luxor. Arrive at your destination and visit Karnak Temple, which is dedicated to the god Amun, his wife Mut, and their son Khonsu, representing the Theban Triad. Learn about the history from your guide. Next, stop for lunch at a local restaurant. Then, board a felucca to enjoy a sailing trip on a traditional wooden boat. After this, come to the West Bank of Luxor and visit the Valley of the Kings. See 3 tombs, including the Tomb of Tutankhamun. View the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Marvel at the 3 massive terraces that rise above the desert floor and into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari. A short while later, proceed to the Colossi of Memnon, to see the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III. Following this, go on a boat trip to Banana Island. Finally, return to your hotel in Hurghada.

couldn't recommend this trip enough. Early start and late drop off but so worth it. We got to explore so much of Luxor with the best guide, very informative and kept the day feeling fun and relaxed.
