What People Are Saying About Huong Tich Cave
Our guide picked me up at the hotel door and off we went for the 2 hour journey to the Red River. Upon arrival at the river we then went in groups of five on a 1 hour cruise in a sampan up the Red River to the pagoda drop-off. Very serene and peaceful along this very clean section of the river. you can walk but it is quite steep towards the top which is about 30 minutes by foot.or buy extra ticket for cable car if you want . The second pagoda is actually a giant cave in the belly of the mountain (more steps) and worth seeing. There is also a great view of the escarpment and valley back to Hanoi from the cable car station. Lena , our Local guide was a delightful host for the day. Tips and Hints: - It will be hot so wear a hat, if you haven't got one buy one at the sampan departure location; they're dirt cheap - There is free wifi access (Hanoli Tourism) at the sampan departure location - Take the cable car it's more fun - There are plenty of places to buy water all along the
Our hotel pick up was on time and we were introduced to our guide who was knowledgeable and helpful throughout the trip. The bus ride took a couple of hours with a rest stop half way and was a good chance to see some of the countryside. We were put on boats to be rowed up river for an hour - quite a delightful ride through the surrounding mountains. A visit to the first pagoda then a very good lunch in the restaurant before heading up the mountain to the Perfume Pagoda. We opted to do the stairs despite the guides misgivings and arrived at the pagoda only a few minutes behind those who took the cable car. The Pagoda itself is interesting, mainly because of the location and history. The return trip to Hanoi was completed in plenty of time for those meeting transport. All up a good day.
