Very interesting facts about olive oil

You should definitely visit the Olive Oil Museum in Pula. You learn a lot about the history and peculiarities of olive cultivation and olive oil, and the positive effect on health must be noted. During the tasting included in the tour, you learn to distinguish high-quality from inferior olive oil. Cheap olive oil from the supermarket is completely wrong in taste compared to the high-quality oils. A new aspect for us was that you can safely use high-quality olive oil for frying in the pan. Up to 215 degrees Celsius is not a problem. In addition, there are the healthy ingredients (antioxidants), which are largely retained even at these temperatures. At the end of the rental there was a kind of cream cheese with honey. Then you could drip the corresponding "favorite olive oil" in the desired amount. The combination of sweet and bitter was excellent in taste.

Great experience- learnt so much about Olive Oil and enjoyed tasting it. Maya was wonderful. She patiently explained the tasting process and the difference between different olive oils. Afterwards I purchased some good oils and condiments. A guided visit to the museum is highly recommended.

A visit to the museum is definitely worthwhile if you are interested in culinary delights. We received a friendly welcome and were well looked after later during the tasting. We say thank you and would love to come back.

It was well worth it. Educational and entertaining. Maja was very helpful during the tasting.
