In a world governed by the rules of the afterlife, the ancient Egyptians attached great importance to their burial places. The Valley of the Kings looks like a dull, rocky gorge from the outside, but hides elaborately painted and carved tombs beneath the surface. Continue to the stunning Temple of Hatshepsut. The inscriptions on the walls of the temple tell the story of the birth of Queen Hatshepsut and her trading trips to the country of Punt, now known as the modern state of Somalia or the peninsula. After visiting the temple, you will return on board to enjoy lunch before your guide picks you up again to visit the beautiful Temple of Philae, the Pearl of Egypt.
