I learned a lot about water and the history of the Hoover Dam. It is amazing that in the thirties there were engineers who initiated and carried out such a project at such an advanced stage that even today one looks at it with such marvel and owe. It is clear that such great work could not have been completed without fatalities at a time when technology was still at its lowest and this was for a cause well done as you see the number of tourists coming in and going out to marvel at this great invention with such great revenue generating capacity for the country with such a large number of jobs created for the people of Las Vegas and surrounding countries. One must also appreciate the decent built for the workers. Looking at the demographics of the country it leaves one wondering how on earth did the workers survive under such conditions in this desert which today is a home and a holiday destination to millions across the globe . These are works of genius
The trip was nice, the busdriver Jonathan and our tour guide Renee were Amazing !!! Only food was poorly arranged, a granola bar was our breakfast ..... and this .... taking into account that you will not be getting the chance to enjoy a decent breakfast since you need to be at your pickup point at approx. 6 AM. For the ones taking this tour, please make sure you prepare some sandwiches the night prior the trip and take your tea, coffee etc. with you !!!
Definitely worth the time and money. Well organized trip! Robert and Leila were our tour guides doe the day and were awesome! We loved how Leila knew so much about different things on the way over and would point them out for us to see! We choose not to take the guided tour, but happened to be following her along the way and she offered to take pictures of our family and even told us where to take some of the best pictures at! She was amazing!
We enjoyed the tour to Grand Canyon as it was not that far from Las Vegas. We even stoped at Hoover Dam, which was also breath taking. Unfortunately we only stopped at the corner of the road for only 10 minutes, and we were not able to see the Dam and the bridge, just a part of the water tanks. But we crossed the bridge with the bus. But time in Grand Canyon was amazing, and super beautiful. Plus we get sandwiches on the way.
Laila was s patient walking guide thru the 2.5 mile walk on the winding path across the canyon. She showed us where to get the best pictures of the ever changing face of the canyon! Out bus driver, Robert was the best! Great sense of humor & great driver. It was a long day but the Grand Canyon is a must see unforgettable experience!
