I booked the 48 hour Bus Tour with the Peak Tram & Sky Terrace option. It was a good decision, as I could enjoy travelling on all the lines and the ferry without having to care about booking tickets or queing. The provider has staff at all the stops and the ferry so you can exchange the voucher received at booking for the tickets you need. The service was good, the Bus Tour employees were kind and helpful, and the tours were well organized. This tours are an excellent option for seeing as much of Hong Kong as you wish, and is especially helpful for people who do not want or cannot walk for long in the strenuous landscape of HK.
This is not the cheapest way to see a city, especially in Hong Kong where transportation is relatively inexpensive, but when you're new to a place it's a great way to get your bearings and decide what you want to explore further. It's also really good if you are travelling solo as you don't feel exposed or alone as you're busy listening to the commentary, which is another advantage of doing the Big Bus. You get some information on the various places as you pass which you wouldn't otherwise know. I'm not sure what the summer timetable is like but in January there was only one bus an hour on both routes so you have to choose quite carefully where to get off. You have to prioritize and that can be a bit tricky when you don't know how long you might need in one place. I did the optional tram up the peak and I would say that is a must for anyone visiting HK. The only hitch was that one of the guides changed my ticket to a single route when I had paid for both but it got sorted quite quickly
