If you’re lucky enough to have George as your guide, it’s a good day because he’s amazing We ended up leaving the group at the fire road and going down to the observatory from there. As a pair of 70 somethings our pace was slower and we felt like we were slowing down the group. We plan to complete the hike to the sign on another visit and just go at our own pace and forfeit George’s wealth of information Trekking poles came in useful as the trail is uneven and occasionally rocky and the elevation gain is around 1200 feet. I wouldn’t recommend it for small children or seniors unused to hiking. Make sure you are hydrated, bring water, sunscreen and a good hat or umbrellla and wear sturdy shoes The views are phenomenal and George has favorite spots to take photos of group members.

We had a great time, it was just the 4 of us so we got a nice private tour with George. We didn’t know what to expect but George made us feel immediately comfortable and engaged. He was full of great historical information that surprisingly made us appreciate the hike and the views even more. George was great with taking our family pictures at the best vantage and scenic points and really wanted to make sure we get a great LA experience after our tour with food and location recommendations. Highly recommended and George was a perfect guide.

Such a fun and educational tour!

Kate was amazing! She kept us motivated and she was super patient with people keeping their own pace. She had some fun knowledge/facts about Griffith Park and took great pictures for the group. I was on my own but Kate had us introduce ourselves so we felt comfortable chatting with others.
