What to Expect
The Marble Mountains, also referred to as Ngu Hanh Son, are said to represent the 5 elements of wood, metal, soil, fire, and water. Enjoy a full-day excursion from Hoi An to visit this mountain area that is well known for its traditional stonemasonry.
Around 600 mountain families skillfully chisel stone statues, jewelry, and other pieces of art. Stonework from the Marble Mountains is exported to countries around the world.
Visit the Cham Museum, built in 1915 with the financial support of the French Far-East Research Institute in Vietnam. You’ll see Champa sculptures from the 7th-15th centuries, including altars, statues, and decorative works collected from Buddhist and Hindu temples. There are also around 300 sandstone and terra-cotta sculptures on display.
The museum showcases the evolution of Champa sculpture from the Golden Age to its decline.
