The tour guide will pick you up at the meeting point and you'll head to Bay Mau Coconut Forest. Here you'll hop on a basket boat to experience this unique ecological area up close. The Bamboo boat is a popular means of transport in Vietnam. Made of bamboo, these vessels travel easily on water and offer you a close encounter with the submerged forest of the Bay Mau area. After that, you'll head to the local market. Your guide will show you where the ingredients for the cooking course come from and you can hand-pick the freshest produce for your dishes. You'll also get a feel for the hustle and bustle of the marketplace that's part of the lives of the traders and local people.  The cooking course will take you through a variety of local dishes. The chef is fun and enthusiastic and will demonstrate how to prepare each dish before guiding you in the preparation of your own version. Following the lesson, you will have the chance to sit back and enjoy the meal you've prepared. Both the market trip and the cooking class will give you an insight into Vietnamese cuisine and that of Hoi An in particular.
