What to Expect
Enjoy a half-day excursion into the countryside, experience the daily life of the people who live there, and join traditional activities.
Your tour begins with a boat ride to Kim Bong carpentry village. Visit artisans making traditional wooden products. Ride a bike along rural paths to appreciate the peaceful environment, surrounded by bamboo, areca, and Chinese tea plants.
The guide will provide interesting information about local plants, herbs, and vegetables while you are riding along. Stop to meet a local family who will show you how to make wine from rice, colorful sleeping mats, rice noodles, and rice paper. Try the bánh bèo, or water fern cake, a culinary specialty of Vietnam.
Head to Tra Nhieu fishing village, where you’ll experience traditional fishing techniques such as dragging. This area is commonly called the small Mekong Delta. During your time there, you can also row a traditional bamboo boat.
