What People Are Saying About Hoi An

Mr. Tri was fantastic. Great way to see the Hoi An and its flavor.

We were picked up at our hotel on bikes and went to the market. Tri told us about the interworkings of the market and all of the fruits, vegetables, fish, and poultry. We then rode into the countryside to see parts of Hoi An we would not have otherwise seen. We arrived at the place where we would cook and toured the gardens where all of the vegetables and herbs were grown. We were then treated to a cooking class and were able to have a nice lunch that we had help make. Totally stuffed with great food, Tri took us back to the hotel and we were bummed to part with him. Great tour great way to see the area and the markets. Highly recommend!

Fun & Engaging! Great Into to Vietnamese Culture

There are MANY cooking classes to choose from in Hoian but we decided to go with this one because they throw in a trip to the river and lets you catch these tiny crabs on the coconut boat. Even though it was pouring rain on the day we went, it was so much fun! I felt like a kid again. Also, they provide a number of dishes. We were very surprised they were able to fit in all of those dishes in only a half day class. The cooking class itself was very informative. The instructor/chef gives you lots of tips and detailed instructions on how to make the food. They also show you (and let you try) how the villagers used to make rice paper from scratch in a traditional brick oven! - great photo op! As for the food itself, everything tasted delish and we had plenty of food to enjoy afterwards. Some of the families couldn't even finish what they've made and were given to-go bags which just goes to show how much food we made. The day was definitely one of the best and most memorable we've had .

Amazing exerience. One of the best things we did in Vietnam

This was an amazing experience for my wife and I - we loved it - it was recommended to us by friends - They picked us up at our hotel in An Bang Beach area and we collected others along the way, we collected our host Van and made our way to the markets to purchase what we were each going to cook. Fresh and delicious. We had 12 of us so we were fortunate to have 12 unique dishes. We were from Canada, Australia, Holland, Belgium, USA, Germany and other places - we did not know each other when we arrived but we shared an amazing day together and had lots of fun as well. It is great that only one cooks at a time with Van' amazing guidance and input so you all get to learn. Smoother than a Swiss train experience. Absolutely amazing and I cannot say enough about Van and her team - they are rated the best because they are the best - worth every

A wonderful inter-active cultural, and social Vietnamese experience.

The Green Bamboo Cooking Class was much, much more than we expected and was great value for money. Our hostess, Van, gave us a choice of dishes to cook, then took us [8 people] to the local market to buy the required ingredients, giving us an interesting and informative explanation as she shopped on our behalf. We then stopped at a local café for a cool drink or coffee of our choice before going to her beautifully appointed house and kitchen to prepare and cook our meals. The preparation was 'hands-on' and was heaps of fun. Van had three delightful young kitchen staff [silent and efficient] who sorted the raw foodstuff into their appropriate dish groupings. Drinks of our choice were provided as we 'worked'. After every person had completed their dish preparation, we each took turn cooking and sharing our dish around buffet style. Van had prepared a delicious dessert which was served with rice vodka - Yeah! In summary - a highlight of our 18 days in Vietnam. Highly recommended !

If you only do one cooking class this is it!

Van was the best teacher, remembered everyones name, we all chose a dish and went to the marke,t without making a list she bought all the ingredients, went to her house and individually made our dish then we all ate our creations. She hugged us all as we reluctantly left,I wanted to stay for dinner!
