Your visit to Salzburg Fortress starts with either a beautiful 20-30 minute walk or a quick and comfortable ride on Austria's oldest funicular (depending on tour option selected). Today you will find an ultra modern rail system instead of the original funicular, which was powered by water and transported people up and down the hill as early as 1892. Upon arrival at the top of the hill, experience a unique view over the Archbishop's city and the breathtaking landscape of Salzburg's mountains.
