We wanted to see a Tasmanian Devil and found out that the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary was a place where we would definitely be able to see one. Bonorong Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary that takes in hurt and abandoned young animals, with the hopes of releasing them back into the wild. All of the animals at Bonorong are either too young to be released back into the wild safely, or have some sort of injury or handicap, which prevents them from being released. We bought the basic ticket, which included a tour of three of the animals at the sanctuary: the Tasmanian Devil, the echidna, and the wombat. The tour guide shared info about each species in general and then the specific animal that we are viewing such as their name, age, reason that they were at the sanctuary, etc. You could then walk through the sanctuary and view the other animals, and even feed kangaroos. You could definitely tell how much the workers cared about the animals. We would high recommend Bonorong!
My family loved being able to get up close to Tasmanian Devils, Wombats and Echidnas, being able to feed the Kangaroos and watching a operation in the animal hospital.
