This was a great day. Lucas was incredibly knowledgeable and so friendly. All the spots we went to on Freycinet were amazing - gorgeous scenery and a bit of a hidden gem. The winery at the end was a nice touch. Would highly recommend.

Nice views from the lookout although not quite the full view seen in some photos. Not too strenuous a climb with options for those who wanted a lesser climb or to go the whole way to the beach as 2 people did. Enjoyed Honeymoon bay stop for lunch. Watched others swim in the clear water. Heather looked after us well thanks

Full description

After arriving at Freycinet National Park, we set off on a group walk to Wineglass Bay lookout. This moderate 45 minute uphill hike gets the heart pumping before revealing one of the best views in the Southern Hemisphere.

Gaze out over treetops to a sweeping vista of white sand and turquoise water; the perfect wine glass-shaped bay – and the ultimate selfie backdrop.

Depending on how active you’re feeling, you can extend your hike down to the beach for swimming, relaxing and dolphin spotting or return from the lookout with your guide to check out Honeymoon Bay, Sleepy Bay and Cape Tourville Lighthouse.

If all that scenery has worked up an appetite, you’ll love our afternoon stop at Devil’s Corner winery. Perched high on a hill overlooking Freycinet, it’s the ideal place to kick back with a glass of wine, fresh seafood platter, woodfired pizza, tea, coffee or artisan gelato at the end of a glorious day.
The tour returns to Hobart around 6pm.

The tour returns to this same location around 6pm. • Please be ready and waiting 5 minutes prior to your pickup time. The tour will depart promptly. • Hotel pickups may be available, from some select locations, when booked in advance. Contact the operator directly via email bookings@tourstas.com.au

Know before you go

  • This tour is an active outdoor activity and it requires some walking. Wineglass Bay Lookout is a 45–60-minute uphill walk, then again back down the hill. There are also longer walking options available that our guide will discuss on the day.
  • All participants should have a sense of adventure, reasonable fitness, and good mobility.
  • Minimum age to participate in the tour is 8 years
  • Our general meet point is 7.25am - Tasmanian Travel & Information Centre, 20 Davey Street, Hobart. Please be ready 5 minutes prior to pick up time. You will have an opportunity to stop enroute to the National Park and purchase a Bakery style lunch to grab sandwiches/wraps etc. Lunch will be enjoyed as you take in the views at Honeymoon Bay.
  • The tour returns to Hobart around 6pm

Heather is an excellent tour leader,informative and engaging. The scenery was spectacular. It is both a long drive from Hobart and a king day but it’s well worth it.
