Full description

Depart from Hobart to spend the whole day in Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park. Hike in the wilderness and explore Marion's Lookout, Ronny Creak, and the Dove Lake Circuit. Gaze at Cradle mountain and enjoy a picnic in the great outdoors in this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Board your eleven-seater bus at the hotel early in the morning and relax aboard, with reclining seats, plenty of luggage space and phone chargers. Then, stop in the town of Deloraine and purchase breakfast at Mamma Buzz Café. Arrive at Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park and go hiking.

Walk up to Marion's Lookout and out again via Ronny Creek, or go on the Dove Lake Circuit. Marvel at the beautiful Tasmanian wilderness, and dare yourself to drink water straight from the river in the Enchanted Forest. Bring your own food and stop for a picnic lunch.

Finally, head back to Hobart at sunset, and stop to have dinner at the Empire Hotel to cap off a wonderful day.

It was awesome. Though a long journey from Hobart with seats in the bus a little too tight for comfort, but it was all worth it. Great breakfast and dinner stop at Deloraine, top up with a very patient guide, Sam. Cradle mountain was awesome. We did the enchanted walk and the Merion look out walk from Dove lake. Dove lake was beautiful. Merion look out trail was pretty challenging for seniors like us with the steep trail. But all worth it when you get there. Awesome breath taking view!

Sam is an amazing guide. The trip was long, with a lot of time during the day spent in the bus, but quick stops were timed perfectly, as were the longer stops for breakfast and dinner. The tour group was small, and consisted of many solo travellers. Even though the weather at Cradle Mountain was very cold and rainy, the area was beautiful and there were still some great hikes to do. Very happy with the experience, and would book again in a heartbeat

It was a mammoth day beginning with a departure at 6am and home just after 9pm and worth the early rising to take in the sights on the trip to Cradle mountain from Hobart. There were so many different walks to choose from and you could simply sit by Dove lake and contemplate the beauty and serenity of this special place (or your navel). There is also the tavern with a fire. Thankyou to Sam our guide for a wonderful day.
