What to Expect
Visit viewpoints overlooking scenic Adventure Bay and Cape Bruny, and spot echidnas, white wallabies, birds, and other wildlife. Taste gourmet treats that Bruny Island is famous for, from artisan cheeses and locally grown berries to smoked salmon, chocolates, nougat, and wine.
With pick-up and drop-off from your hotel provided, a round-trip ferry ride, and National Park entry, this full-day tour is the ultimate way to experience Bruny Island’s wild beauty and wickedly delicious gourmet food.
Enjoy the 15-minute cruise to Bruny Island, and then travel by air-conditioned mini-van to the narrow neck of land connecting the north and south parts of the island. You’ll pass oyster farms and grazing properties en route. Enjoy the views from the Adventure Bay and Hummock lookouts.
Continue to Adventure Bay and stop for morning tea at the Bruny Island Berry Farm. Locally grown berry fruits are available in ice cream, pancakes, scones with jam and cream, strawberry and chocolate fondues, and berry cakes.
Your tour continues along the Mount Mangana Trail, passing Cloudy Bay on the way to Cape Bruny Lighthouse. Enjoy a tour around the lighthouse, Australia's last vantage point to spot migrating humpback and southern right whales, and an important navigational landmark for ships at sea.
Stop at Hotel Bruny for a delicious lunch featuring local island produce, locally caught fish, and Tasmanian beef and lamb.
The afternoon is all about nature and more food, with stops at the Bruny Island Cheese Company to taste delicious artisan cheeses, Get Shucked for fresh oysters, and BISH for smoked salmon and wine.
Walk off your lunch and tastings on a stroll along the beach and through Bruny Island’s pristine rainforests. Keep an eye out for echidnas, white wallabies, wildflowers, and the island's unique birdlife.
