Cool tour

Overall it was a good tour. The guide really tried his best and provided many useful information although his English could be a bit better. At the first day we made a stop at a local honey workshop (this stop can be reduced, after 10 minutes it seemed like a promotion stop). After it did a 10 minutes rowing boat. The next morning we prepared for the 30 minutes at the floating market where you could buy some fruits. 30 minutes were fully enough. I recommend the optional bicycle tour afterwards (5€ for 2). The bus could be more comfortable for this quite long ride (4 hours).

The trip was superb. We had a wonderful cheery guide (Tinh) who led us in an action packed adventure, gently and successfully encouraging us to try unusual things (snake wine!). Small boat trip in Ben Tre province a highlight. Overnight, the Hotel was absolutely fine and the Can Tho night market suggested by the guide was a good, very accessible experience in our independent time after arriving. The floating market is fun and definitely worth the 2 day option. Ideally bring small denomination currency for extras throughout - e.g. local honey from the beehives we saw or a coffee/some fruit in the floating market, and hiring bicycles to explore on the second day.

Excellent except for the journey back

We had a really good experience in the Mekong Delta and in Can Tho. The return journey however was really poor. Instead of the bus that we had used until then, we had a minibus which was not up to standard. No power points, no footrests but mostly it could not cope with the road. Every time we went over a bridge (and there are many in the mekong) it bounced around dangerously and very uncomfortably. It was not helped by a driver who thought he was driving a car not a minibus. The journey, which should have taken over 4 hours, took 3.5 hours. And to cap it all, we had to ask for water! Not a good experience!
