Travel from Ho Chi Minh City to see the Cu Chi Tunnels and Cao Dai Temple on a full-day excursion to 2 of the more interesting sites in Southern Vietnam. Learn about their historical and cultural significances, and enjoy lunch before returning.
What to Expect
Spend a full day exploring 2 unique locations in Southern Vietnam. After departing from Ho Chi Minh City, make your way to the Cu Chi Tunnels. These tunnels are more than 125 miles (200 kilometers) in length and 3 levels deep, and stretch from Ho Chi Minh all the way to the Vietnamese-Cambodian border. Go underground and walk the tunnels to get a feel for what life was like during the Vietnam War.
Next, make your way to Tay Ninh Province, home of the Cao Dai sect, whose patron saints include Sun Yat-Sen, Victor Hugo and Nguyen Binh Khiem. The religion is a hybrid of Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, and Christianity. Here you will visit the Cao Dai Temple and enjoy a local lunch before returning to Ho Chi Minh City.
