Visit the stunning Great Holy See Temple of Cao Dai, and explore the Cu Chi Tunnels of the Viet Cong on a full-day group tour from Ho Chi Minh City. Discover the integral role the tunnels played in the Vietnam War.
What to Expect
Take this full-day group tour to discover 2 of North Vietnam’s most iconic structures. You will head north from Ho Chi Minh City to the Great Holy See Temple of Cao Dai, before touring the legendary Cu Chi Tunnels of the Viet Cong.
The Great Holy See Temple was built in 1926, and is considered one of the most striking structures in all of southeast Asia. The center of Cao Dai faith, a religion that blends Buddhism, Christianity, and Confucianism, Cao Dai Temple is an experience not to be missed, especially during the colorful noon-day mass held by Cao Dai followers.
Continue to the Cu Chi Tunnels. Located 36 miles (60 kilometers) from Ho Chi Minh City. In their heyday, the extensive tunnels were functioning underground cities, including numerous trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers and kitchens.
Today, Cu Chi is a tranquil place of paddy fields, and where ducks and water buffalos bath in the rivers alongside the road. But this peaceful rural scene belies the terrible destruction and defoliation caused by bombing and mines, when Cu Chi was a "Free Target Zone." Travel back in time to this terrible time in history, and explore evidence of the fierce battles that took place all over the area during the Vietnam War.
