What to Expect
Take this half-day tour to discover 1 of North Vietnam’s most iconic structures. You will head north from Ho Chi Minh City to visit the legendary Cu Chi Tunnels of the Viet Cong.
Explore the amazing site where the Viet Cong hid during the Vietnam War. It is now a popular spot for both Vietnamese and foreign tourists and includes a network of over 120 miles (200 kilometers) of tunnels that became legendary for their vital role in the Vietnam War.
In their heyday, the tunnels were functioning underground cities, including numerous trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers and kitchens.
There is plenty of evidence of the fierce battle that took place during the 1960s when Cu Chi was a "Free Target Zone". You can watch a short introductory video that shows how the tunnels were constructed, before entering the tunnels themselves.
Spend some time exploring the tunnels. Afterwards you will pause for tea and cassava, guerrilla's food during wartime.
Return to Ho Chi Minh City for your hotel drop-off and the end of a fascinating tour of Vietnamese history.
