Spend 2 days discovering the fascinating Cu Chi tunnels and the Cai Be Floating market on this dynamic tour from Ho Chi Minh City. Spend the first day exploring the tunnels, trying out traditional war dishes, firing AK47s and MK16s at a rifle range, participating in a traditional Vietnamese cooking class, and enjoying the evening in a local homestay. On your second day, explore the bustling Cai Be Floating market, cruise down the canals of the Upper Mekong Delta, and enjoy a delicious fresh river food lunch before returning to Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi Tunnels – Vinh Long
After pick-up at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh city, depart for the Cu Chi tunnels, located 60 kilometers away. After a 1.5-hour drive, watch an amazing documentary film about the Cu Chi tunnels and then descend into the tunnels for a real-life experience.
Afterwards, taste some delicious manioc, one of the main foods in Cu Chi during the war, and opt to fire off rounds from an AK47 or MK16 at a nearby rifle range. Continue the tour with a drive to Vinh Long, stopping for lunch and photos in Tan An. Once in Vinh Long, enjoy some free time to become acquainted with your hosts and take part in a small cooking class. Overnight at the home stay.
Day 2: Cai Be Floating Market – Ho Chi Minh City
After an early start, set off by motor boat to visit the Cai Be floating market. Watch the locals trading fruit and many other commodities aboard their vessels and then wander into the small surrounding villages to visit the orchard and fruit plantations. Keep cruising to Vinh Long through a series of small canals to experience the charms of the Upper Mekong Delta and visit a small family business to see how coconut candy and crispy rice popcorn are made.
Continue on to the Binh Hoa Phuoc village, known as the green pearl of Vinh Long town. Enjoy a fresh river food lunch served in the heart of the garden, accompanied by traditional Vietnamese folk music. After a delightful walk through the bonsai garden, return to Vinh Long to board your vehicle and arrive at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City at 17:00.
