What to Expect
Discover the many charms of Vietnam on a 10-day tour, including a 2-day cruise of Ha Long Bay. Visit traditional pagodas, ride on an elephant's back, and enjoy some free time in Nha Trang to try water sports activities, such as scuba diving and mud baths! Go to the network of underground tunnels at Cu Chi on the Cambodian border and - by way of contrast - discover Vietnam’s most romantic honeymoon destination at Dalat!
Day 1: Arrival - Ho Chi Minh City
Following your arrival at Tan Son Nhat Airport, Ho Chi Minh City, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay in the city center. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Accommodation will be at the Dragon Hotel (deluxe room or similar), or at the New World Sai Gon Hotel (superior room or similar).
Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City - Cu Chi Tunnels (B, L)
Following breakfast at your hotel, visit one of Vietnam's must-see attractions; the labyrinth network of tunnels used by the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War to defy the power of the B45s. Explore the complex of underground passages, storage chambers and booby traps at the Cu Chi Tunnels. Watch a short introductory video about the construction of the tunnels, before entering through one of the tiny trap doors to experience them first hand. After lunch, return to Ho Chi Minh City for an afternoon at leisure. Accommodation will be at the Dragon Hotel (deluxe room or similar), or at the New World Sai Gon Hotel (superior room or similar).
Day 3: Ho Chi Minh - Dalat (B)
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel. Then, transfer to the airport for your flight to Dalat. Upon arrival, you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel for the rest of the day at leisure. Accommodation will be at the Blue Moon Dalat Hotel (superior room or similar), or at the Ana Mandara Villas Dalat (villa room or similar).
Day 4: Dalat Orientation Tour (B, L)
Spend the day exploring the city the Vietnamese call a “romantic honeymoon destination” for its cool climate and picturesque location on the edge of Vietnam's Central Highland Plateau. See all the main monuments, such as the Hằng Nga Guesthouse, popularly known as the “Crazy House” for its bizarre design. Go to Linh Phuoc Pagoda, built from glass debris, and Lam Ty Ni Pagoda, where the decorative front gate was built by one monk. See Bao Dai Summer Palace, and a train station that serves a mere 8 kilometers of railway tracks. Ride an elephant at Tuyen Lam Lake. Children (and adults alike!) can feed them a few bananas by hand. Return to the city center for an overnight stay at the Blue Moon Dalat Hotel (superior room or similar), or at the Ana Mandara Villas Dalat (villa room or similar).
Day 5: Dalat - Nha Trang (B)
Following breakfast at your hotel, relax before the 3-hour coach transfer to Nha Trang, Vietnam’s beach capital. Upon arrival, check into the Light Hotel (deluxe room or similar) or the Michelia Hotel (superior premium room or similar) and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 6-7: Nha Trang (B)
Enjoy 2 days relaxing in Nha Trang exploring at your own pace. A medium-sized city at the center of a large bay with offshore islands, Nha Trang is a heaven for beach lovers, but there's plenty to see and do away from the sand. Enjoy a range of good restaurants and adventure activities, such as boat cruises, mud baths, and scuba diving with dive specialists. The choice is yours. Accommodation will be at The Light Hotel (deluxe room or similar), or at the Michelia Hotel (superior premium room or similar).
Day 8: Nha Trang - Hanoi (B)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Hanoi. Following your arrival at Noi Bai Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy some free time to relax before an evening performance of a traditional water puppetry show; an art form unique to northern Vietnam. Your overnight accommodation will be at La Belle Vie Hotel (superior room or similar), or at the Authentic Hanoi Hotel (deluxe room or similar).
Day 9: Hanoi - Ha Long Bay Glory Cruise (B, L, D)
Cruise among the limestone cliffs of Ha Long Bay, and discover exotic karst formations and caves of stalactites and stalagmites. Learn about the daily life of the locals. The overnight cruise includes accommodation and hospitality on board a traditional wooden junk boat. You will be picked from your hotel in Hanoi at 08:00. Transfer through the Red River Delta to Ha Long City. Upon arrival, board the Halong Phoenix Cruiser, and enjoy a fresh seafood lunch (vegetarian options available) as you set sail. After lunch, take a short tender ride to Sung Sot Cave. Then, go to Ti Top island to relax on the beach or climb to the summit for panoramic views of the bay and boats. Watch the sun set as you relax on the sundeck with your favorite drink. A dinner of local seafood will be served before your overnight stay.
Day 10: Ha Long Bay - Hanoi (B, L)
Get up early for a breathtaking sunrise view from the sundeck. Then, kayak around the area for stunning vistas of the serene bay from the water. Return to the junk boat for a cookery demonstration of traditional Vietnamese recipes and cooking techniques. Enjoy lunch as you cruise back to the harbor, where a transfer bus will be waiting to take you back to Hanoi by approximately 16:00. Check into La Belle Vie Hotel (superior room or similar) or the Authentic Hanoi Hotel (deluxe room or similar) for your final overnight stay.
