Full description
Set off on an 8-hour guided tour in a small group of no more than 10 people. Discover the most interesting and most beautiful spots of Hiroshima via public transportation, including the 2 world-famous UNESCO world heritage sites of Hiroshima.

Begin your tour at 10:15 AM at JR Hiroshima Station. From here, pass over the Ōta River and admire views of the delta area. Upon arrival in Shukkei-en, walk through the beautiful garden with your local guide before some free time to explore. Next, head toward Hiroshima Castle which was home of mighty lords of the region in ancient times. Learn about the dramatic events of the Warring States era and the castle's history with your English-speaking guide. Discover the hidden reason why Hiroshima was chosen as a target for the nuclear bomb.

After this, make your way to the Atomic Bomb Dome, the symbol of one of the most unforgettable and sad stories of the last century. Listen to a short lecture about how it happened at this UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is kept in the same state of destruction as the bomb caused. At 12:30 PM, transfer back to Hiroshima station by public transportation for a short lunch break. Then, take a train at 2 PM and a 10 minutes ferry ride to Miyajima. When you arrive, stroll through the main streets of Miyajima, Omotesando. Continue to Senjokaku (the Hall of thousand Tatamis), where the beautiful 5-story Pagoda stands.

Take some time at the Red Torii Gate, then, enter the sacred 'floating' Itsukushima shrine to feel the uniqueness and magic of this ancient site. From there, proceed to Daiganji Temple devoted to the goddess Benzaiten. Also, see Daishonin temple and discover the Buddhist side of Itsukushima. At around 5:10 PM, return to Hiroshima Station by a ferry and a train. Conclude the tour at Hiroshima Station at 6:15 PM
