- Be taken aback by the city's revival since the bombing
First you will be shown around the famous Atomic Bomb Dome and Peace Memorial Park. The guide will take you back to WWII by explaining what it was like during the war and when the bomb was dropped. Your guide will help you to understand the thoughts of the people of Hiroshima.
You will leave Peace Memorial Park and head into the city. In the vibrant urban districts rebuilt with passion after the war there remain a few heritage sites that survived the radioactive bombing. Your guide will take you to those sites and walk you through what happended there. If you see a shop that interests you en route, feel free to go in and take a look.
Next, climb up to the Orizuru Tower observatory floor, where you can look out over Hiroshima. Your guide will explain the various exhibits in the tower, too. Then with a prayer, fold a paper crane (orizuru), which is the symbol of peace, and drop it into the Orizuru Wall, built inside the tower.
