Reykjavík: Silfra Fissure Snorkeling between Two Continents

Reykjavík: Silfra Fissure Snorkeling between Two Continents

Embark on an underwater experience like no other: Snorkeling between tectonic plates at the Silfra Fissure. Silfra boasts up to 150m of underwater visibility and is frequently ranked as one of the top dive sites in the world. Admire views of Iceland's stunning landscape as you ride from Reykjavik to the heart of Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Snorkel in this location for 45 min with your guide, before warming up with hot coco & cookies, then returning to the city. *Select Meet-on-Location to make your own way to Thingvellir - we'll meet you there!* The glacier waters come from Langjökull, 50 km (30 miles) away, and make their way through lava fields to beautiful Thingvellir Lake. Reykjavik: Golden Circle, Friðheimar, & Sky Lagoon Day Trip

Reykjavik: Golden Circle, Friðheimar, & Sky Lagoon Day Trip

This tour begins with our free pickup service in central Reykjavík. We head out of the city to begin our day in the wonderful Icelandic countryside. Kerið is a volcanic crater formed after an enormous eruption over 1000 years ago. Enjoy the view along the crater top walkway or descend the steps to the lake below. Great photo opportunities are to be found from each vantage point. TFriðheimar farm is a geothermally heated greenhouse and horse farm. Here you will meet the tiny icelandic horse and see a horse show demonstration of their unique gaits. Next up you will be taken on a tour of the greenhouse where tomatoes and cucumbers are produced to an impressive scale. Explore Geysir geothermal park, home of the eponymous Geysir, though it is its younger sister Strokkur that now erupts regularly. You will have time to witness several eruptions as it erupts every 7-10 minutes or so. Take a leisurely walk around an see other bubbling pools with the distinctive sulfur smell lingering heavily in the air. Just a short drive from Geysir, lies the immensely powerful waterfall, Gullfoss. This waterfall lies on the Hvitá river which itself is fed by meltwater from Langjökull glacier to the north. Here you are met first by the water mist from the falls before you even see them. Take the walking path down to the falls or stay to the higher path for a bird´s eye view. There is no wrong choice here. Thingvellir National Park is a UNESCO world heritage site. Here Icelanders met in an ancient parliament assembly, the longest continuous assembly is the world, though now located in Reykjavík. But perhaps more significantly here one can visibly see the continental rift between the american and euroasian tectonic plates, a rift increasing in size by the year. Walk between the continents! We visit one of Iceland´s most beloved geothermal lagoon, Sky Lagoon. Your Pure Pass tickets gives you access to both the lagoon itself with it´s awe-inspiring infinity poolwith breathtaking sea views as well as the complete 7-step Ritual Experience. This includes one of the world´s most stunning sauna with floor to ceiling sea view, body scrub, cold plunge pool and steam bath. Please note that the order of stops can change for logistical reasons. Sometimes we might start the day at Sky Lagoon.

The Golden Circle is incredible and having a great tour guide with a deep knowledge of Iceland like Tony made it as informative as it was beautiful. Visiting multiple sites including the Geysir, National Park, Gullfoss Waterfall, Fridheimar (with a lovely lunch in their wine bar) and finishing at the Sky Lagoon really made it a very relaxed tour despite the amount we actually covered.

Fantastic day! Everything was so well organised and we felt we had plenty of time at each stop. Of course the highlight was the snowmobiling, it was absolutely incredible! Margaret was a great tour guide, overall highly recommend!

The excursion was great for a first visit to Iceland, the stops are quite short but enough to discover and make you want to come back. The guide taught us a lot of things and ours even gave us some extras!

One of the coolest experiences ever. Weronika was such a fun guide and made the best of some crazy weather. Would 100% recommend this tour for anyone considering!!

Amazing. The pickup took a long time which was annoying, but everything else was excellent.
