New York: Big Bus Hop-On Hop-Off Sightseeing Tour
- Valid: 1 - 3 days
- Optional audio guide
This environmentally-friendly elevated park was built on an abandoned rail line that runs along Manhattan’s West Side in 2009. Explore alone, take a free tour provided by the facility on Tuesdays, or a private tour for a more thorough and flexible experience.
From the historic Meatpacking district to the cultural legends of Chelsea, the area surrounding the High Line has been an epicenter of industry and art for over a century.
Three decades after the trucking industry made the railroad obsolete, the park has become a symbol of repurposed urban space, and its sustainable practices follow suit.
Learn about the natural prairie garden from a horticulturalist or enjoy a classical concert. Find a full listing of guided activities on the website: thehighline.org/activities.
Find vendors with seasonal treats near W 16th St or have a dining experience with a sweeping view of the Hudson River at the park’s open air cafe Terroir at The Porch.
Pleasant all times of the year, a balmy walk through the wildgrass in summer is the most ideal. The park is kept open later at night in summer months allowing for a view of the lit-up Manhattan skyline.
Book a private tour ahead or be sure to check the High Line's Twitter account to make sure the regular Tuesday walking tours haven’t been canceled due to weather.
There are 11 entrances from the Northernmost point of the railroad at W 34th St to the end at W 14th St. The entrances are equipped alternatively with stairs, elevators and/or ramps.

Had a GREAT time riding Big Bus. All of the representatives on the street were nice and very helpful. The stops are strategically placed close to all the major areas of attractions to allow easy walking to. It’s definitely well worth the price to get around the city all day. Highly recommended!
It’s much more interesting to visit a city with someone as knowledgeable as Bob our guide. He was very passionate about the resurrection of the area and the new buildings there.
The bus trips went smoothly and were quite pleasant! Watch on the uptown loop for low lying branches if you are on the right side of the bus upper deck!
it was nice but the inside the bus was hot but it was ok. would take that tour again
Had a good time, had family come along with us they enjoyed the site's very much.
