Hierve El Agua has changed in 10 years (the last time I came)! Much more touristy and therefore much more crowded but still worth it. The visit to discover the methods of coloring wool was super interesting, I really found it surprising to see with which elements of nature it is possible to dye wool in so many colors. The mezcal factory was a bit fast… and less interesting I find. Regarding the logistics, we called the day before to have confirmation of the pick-up time because we had not received confirmation and we then received a whatsapp message from the local partner to confirm the exact time, which was respected so organization at the top! The driver explained to us well (in Spanish and English) the different stops we were going to make and at each stop, the time we would spend there so everything was very clear. I recommend this excursion!
We visited the Tule tree, a bread and chocolate store, Hierve el Agua, the Mitla archeological area, a weaving store and a mezcal factory. Everything was really interesting and our guide Karla was really nice and accommodating. The entries to Tule, Mitla and Hierve el Agua are not included. The price isn't high, but it would have been good to have these listed. We wish we would have had a longer and longer explanation in Mitla, including history. We stopped at a buffet place for lunch. Even though the quality was good for a buffet it would have been nice to have other options.
This tour was a lot of fun. The weaving was a great experience, the Hierve el Agua were beautiful. Afterwards we could have lunch in a restaurant for a fee. The buffet was delicious. Finally, there was the tasting. That was fantastic too. The entire tour was a complete success and highly recommended.
The waterfall was fabulous, and so good to have a cool swim afterwards!
Everything was on time and we had sufficient time for each activity
