Northumberland Castles & Coast Online Road Trip Travel Guide

Explore Northumberland your way with this guidebook that illustrates a scenic 189-mile (303 km) point-to-point trip through one of England’s most awe-inspiring regions. Designed for flexibility, the guide is organised into two themed sections—Northumberland National Park and Northumberland Coast—so you only visit the places that you choose. __________________________________________________________________ WHAT TO EXPECT • This is an online travel guide – much like a digital book – ready for you to read, browse, and get inspired while planning at home or using your phone on the go. • The guidebook offers an overarching plan to help shape your multi-destination holiday, with different ideas and sample itineraries. It shows how destinations can be combined to suit your timeframe – typically from 3 to 14 days. • It’s designed to help you decide where to go, what to see, where to stay, and to inspire your trip in a way that suits your interests. It also includes helpful tips such as how to get there and where to park. • Please note: the guide itself is not customisable. However, each route includes Uncover Britain’s own pre-populated Google Maps with suggested pins and directions, plus customisable directions by section using Google Maps. __________________________________________________________________ GO BEYOND THE CLASSICS WITH: • Hexham – Explore the market town, its abbey, and nearby Hadrian’s Wall access points • Hadrian’s Wall – Discover ancient forts, scenic walking routes, and immersive Roman museums • Northumberland National Park – Find peace and natural beauty in Simonside, Breamish Valley, and Kielder Forest • Alnwick & Warkworth Castles – Use the guide to plan visits to majestic coastal fortresses • Bamburgh, Craster, and Amble – Discover charming villages with rich history and stunning seaside views • Lindisfarne (Holy Island) – Cross the tidal causeway and explore the abbey and island’s spiritual history • Scenic Drives & Stargazing – Experience winding country lanes and the dark skies of Kielder Observatory While you could search for places to go on your own, this guide offers curated context and ready-made itineraries along a recommended journey—so you don’t have to second-guess or piece everything together yourself. We can highly recommend this Tour, especially with our guide Kevin! Thanks you so much for giving us such amazing insights in an entertaining manner! Kevin has a lot of knowledge about ancient Rome in connection to Hadrian`s Wall and the british/celtic history. He is able to create an authentic atmosphere which makes the ancient life near the Hadrian`s Wall tangible.

Very nice and very interesting tour. It's just a pity that you had to arrange your own transport between the sites, including taxis.
