The trip was great, the driver to the coach was super friendly, outgoing and you could tell he had been doing it for a long long time. Take a backpack with drinks, snacks, and swimwear - also sandals to change into if you’re hiking in trainers. The coach journey itself is a bit of a stretch, if you’re a fast hiker - essentially you’re paying for the shuttle service, as you’re left to your own devices essentially when you arrive (unless you’re at the very back). There are SNAKES on the trail which we were not warned about, so be aware and stay on the trail - don’t be wandering off. It’s a little unclear where to go once you reach the end of the trail, so you may have to ask some friendly shop keepers to tell you how to get to the Libyan Sea. I ran most of it, and was done in about 2 hrs. Which left plenty of time to relax at the beach, get a bite and enjoy the sun. The Veggie options at the end cafe are POOR - essentially it’s Greek break with chips inside - not ideal.

Absolutely a great experience. Our guide explained things every now and then during the trip, in English and French. She speaks German and Dutch very well, but asked us guests if we could understand everything well and we all agreed to English. During the hike we didn't hear anything from our guide because she made sure to bring up the rear so that everyone could keep up. The route through the Samaria Gorge is very demanding and even more so in summer temperatures of 35 degrees. There are clean water sources every few kilometers to fill up with water and cool off. The pick-up and drop-off went well. The driver drove very safely and knew the area well, even if he often drove 20-30 km/h too fast, tailgated and kept using his cell phone while driving to play YouTube videos. Unfortunately, the driver and guide were constantly coughing. Hopefully we stay healthy on vacation

Top experience for a first! Getting up early was worth it. The bus picked us up at 5am, we took two breaks and we arrived at the start of the gorges at 10am. The first 20 minutes were the most "difficult" then the rest was okay but it was long we finished at 4:30pm but be careful there is still a 30min walk to get to the beach we couldn't enjoy it unfortunately because the last boat is at 5:30pm. Overall a hike to do, the guides were nice.

Very nice day spent in the company of Elisabeth, our guide, who masterfully orchestrated everything for this excursion: shuttle arrived on time, sufficient time in the different places, very interesting explanations. A big congratulations for the organization and also for the experienced driver!

magnificent hike in the Samaria gorges with Ingrid our guide who spoke French. In 5 hours we did it. The afternoon is free since the boat did not leave until 6 p.m. Beach or restaurant there to occupy the time.
