The Palace and Museum were worth the visit, Heraklion itself is full of shops and restaurants, I am sure it has many other places of interest but after visiting the museum and getting something to eat we had no time to explore it further. It’s a long day out, half of it is spent travelling on a coach there and back with a stop for a drink and snacks each way although we weren’t very impressed with the choice of cafe or the coffee. In hindsight we would have hired a car but understand why some people prefer to travel by coach/do a tour.
Nicky our guide was excellent. The pace of the visit was just right. Her level of knowledge was superb and she made it come alive for us. She gave us the right amount of information and was always willing to answer questions. The tour was very well organised. My only disappointment is that there were many people and the small bus was virtually full so no possibility of social distancing.
This was a great way to get a wonderful feel and taste for the wine, olive oil and food in Crete. Our tour guide, Pierre, was so knowledgeable of the wine, the food and the history. Everyone involved worked together to make sure we had a great time. Would definitely recommend to others.
Had a lovely morning sail with friends, the island was a neat place although didn’t spend a lot of time on it. Need to swim ashore, so a little difficult to explore and/or bring a camera to the island. The captain and his first mate were friendly but didn’t talk much.
A very well organised tour. We were about 8 people in a sailing boat, had a very friendly guide. We snorkelled and swam at the beaches of Dia. The food and wine on board was lovely too. Hats off to the crew from Sailing Trips Heraklion . Would highly recommend !
