Heraklion: Ecobike Sightseeing Tour with Greek Meze

Alex is a great guide, helpful, funny and informative. Took myself and my 15 year old son on a tour round Heraklion, which included the war memorial, a local park with an interesting history and the main church among them. We were lucky enough to go on a Monday so we'l were able to go to the weekly food market, where we also stopped off for food and drink. The food was all fresh and local, straight from the market, and we had a choice of drinks, and a delicious white wine plus raki. The ebikes are so cool and easy to ride, and as mentioned in other reviews no pedalling is necessary. We enjoyed it so much we asked is Alex could take us out again the following day on his bigger ebikes into the mountains. As teenagers can be a bit weird, he tailored the tour so we didn't go to the winery but instead a long circular route through local villages with an excellent lunch with music at a small taverna. Would highly recommend any of Alex's tours, no matter your fitness level.

Met up with Alex at his office, had a quick practice on the bikes and we were off. The bikes were fun to ride, especially on on a downhill or on the flat, they struggled with my weight as I'm a big guy on the steeper uphill slopes. We had stops at various locations where Alex gave us some information, there was a lot of travelling between these but like I say the bikes were fun to ride. The tour part was done after just after an hour and half, we then made our way to a local market close to his office. There we could see the local produce for sale before going to a local cafe for our lunch. Alex being a friend to the owner helped him to serve us with a drink of our choice and various small plates of authentic greek food which me and my daughter cleared the vast majority of. The owner then went into the market for our desert of fresh fruit which he then prepared for us. Alex is a really nice guy and has a good business providing tours and offering local products for sale.
