I recently took the Soweto Walking Tour, and it was an unforgettable experience. Our guide, Maweza, who lives in Soweto, was fantastic—so knowledgeable about both the history and the present-day realities of the area. The tour was eye-opening, especially the visit to one of the shanty communities, which gave real insight into life there. Lunch was a highlight too—I got to try Kota, a delicious and popular street food. Overall, it was an enriching and thought-provoking tour that I’d highly recommend.
Our guide Masese was great! He provided us with interesting information throughout the day and we were able to ask questions at any time. We saw and learnt a lot that day. At the end of the day, it was also no problem to drive us somewhere else than agreed. We can highly recommend the tour.
Maweza was amazing! He was knowledgeable and gave us a very organized tour. He showed us every part of the Soweto and gave us a true local experience. Definitely worth it and I would recommend this tour and Maweza to anyone visiting Johannesburg!
