Wander through the tranquil tracks and meet over 200 species of Australian animals, including the iconic koalas, kangaroos, platypus, dingoes, wombats and emus in their natural surrounds. Enjoy the fantastic Spirits of the Sky experience, a hugely popular free show that takes place at Healesville Sanctuary daily. Be awed by the beauty and power of these birds as they demonstrate their incredible ability to fly. Healesville Sanctuary is internationally renowned for its work saving endangered Australian species at the Australian Wildlife Center. Visit the center, which treats more than 2000 sick and injured native animals every year. Be sure to visit the treetops of Koala Forest and hop into Kangaroo Country to see red kangaroos, tree kangaroos and wombats.

Meeting point

Please meet at Healesville Sanctuary - Badger Creek Road, Healesville, Vic. 3777 Directions: By car: Take the Eastern Freeway out of Melbourne, then drive east along Maroondah Highway through Ringwood and Lilydale to Healesville. Turn right into Badger Creek Road, just past the township centre. From there, road signage will guide you to the Healesville Sanctuary carpark. Public Transport: Step 1. Train to Lilydale: catch a train from the Melbourne city centre to Lilydale Railway Station, travelling on the Lilydale line. Step 2. Bus to Healesville: from Lilydale Railway Station you need to catch bus 685 to Healesville, and then take a connecting bus (686 towards Badger Creek) which will take you to Healesville Sanctuary.

Such a fantastic place, highly recommended for visitors to Australia to see the diversity of the flora and fauna. My guest totally enjoyed the experience and seeing most of the animals and birds and reptiles in their natural settings. Covid may have impacted some of the exhibits but overall an awesome place even for one who lives here and has seen a lot of outdoor Australia!

Don’t go on a 35d day! There are bbqs available if you wanted to take your own meat, otherwise cafes , there are plenty of drinking fountains as well. If there were a few of you there’s plenty of lovely picnic spots. Very few people during the week so not at all crowded. The bird show was fantastic.

Had a wonderful day , took my Grandchildren They loved seeing the animals It was a warm day but was very grateful for the seating areas that are shaded and was impressed by the sprinkler spray system the kids loved having a play under that Lots of kids activity’s to enjoy Grandchildren asleep in the car on the way home … I would say they enjoyed themselves
