Overall well organized. Friendly and knowledgeable guides. Detailed and very good explanations of the starry sky. Snack a little skimpy but wasn't that important to us as we had food with us. Acclimatization at the visitor center too short. We (over 70) had very shaky legs when we arrived at 4200m. Overall, however, it was an absolutely worthwhile and unforgettable experience that was crowned with 2 great photos of the South Seas sky. I can only recommend the tour, but you should still be reasonably fit even in old age. I think the age limit of 80 is absolutely justified and sensible.

This was an AMAZING tour! Highly recommended, the view was unbelievably beautiful. We couldn’t believe how many stars were visible in the night sky. We went in May, they provided coats & gloves (bring a winter hat of some kind, it was really cold once the sun went down at that altitude). Bring some Ginger chews if you get motion sick, as the ride to the top/and back down is twisty & bumpy… those helped my wife who typically gets car sick. The pictures they took turned out great. I highly recommend this experience!!!

We had a perfect evening for seeing the sights and stargazing. Before sunset we could see all the way to Lanai (and have the pictures to prove it). Watching the sun set into the ocean and looking back to see the shadow of Mauna Kea stretch out into the ocean in the other direction were both wonderful. Then stepping out of the van for the stargazing and looking up into the full Milky Way as I haven't seen it since I was sitting on a small boat in the middle of the ocean caught my breath. Just amazing. Hunter was a great guide and we appreciated everything he showed us.
