Know before you go

  • It is mandatory for you to email the local operator's reservation team at least 72 hours prior to your tour date to confirm your pick-up time and location
  • Dress in layers, the summit of Haleakalā is over 10,000 feet above sea level with temperatures dropping to near or below freezing in the early morning, dress in warm clothing, and wear shoes and socks
  • The pick-up time ranges throughout the year are as follows: January- February 2:50 AM- 3:20 AM; March 2:20 AM-2:50 AM; April-September 1:50 AM-2:20 AM; October-November 2:20 AM-2:50 AM; December 2:50 AM-3:20 AM
  • Tours operate rain or shine. If the tour is canceled you will be contacted to reschedule
  • ADA-accessible tour vehicles are available, please advise at the time of booking
  • Please bring a child safety seat for children under 4 years of age

Awesome trip. The ride was without issues. I was able to get some sleep in since we had to wake up very early. Guide was amiable and informative. He also was patient and made sure everyone got back on the van before taking off. It was worth the money.

Our guide Marlon was very knowledgeable, kind and funny. He was sure to tell us all the random tidbits of history about Hawaii, Maui and why the sunrise was seen as so important. He kept the trip fun and interesting which was great when I had to deal with two people in my party that tend to get motion sickness. No one was sick!!!

The entire trip was outstanding! Michael, our driver and tour guide, gave wonderful information and made everyone feel comfortable. Being picked up super early in the morning, he gave us a forecast of what to expect during the trip and info about the weather at the top of the volcano which I appreciated! Breakfast was very nice at the Maui Tropical Plantation (you get 3 choices and pre-order about halfway up the summit) and there is plenty of time for anything you want to do once you are dropped off at the end of the tour. Definitely bring warm clothes including long socks, thin gloves, a wool cap and a sweatshirt/light coat to wear under the warm coat they provide (that you will be prompted to request ahead of the trip). I appreciated the phone call reminder about our tour and all the communicative emails. This tour group means business and it was excellent service all-around. Don't second guess yourself - book this other-worldly experience now!
