  • Achieve a perfect balance of mind, body and spirit as you cruise Oahu coastline
  • Capture stunning pictures by the historic Diamond Head lighthouse and the Amelia Earhart Lookout
Overview
On this 2-hour tour along the beautiful Pacific Ocean you climb past the historic lighthouse that stands guard on the weathered brow of Diamond Head and travel to the secluded and picturesque Cromwell’s beach.
What to Expect
Since the fictional land of Shangri-La was first described in the novel Lost Horizon, the mere mention of the name has conjured up visions of an earthly utopia. In 1935, 22-year old Doris Duke, heiress to the vast Duke tobacco fortune, came to Hawaii on her honeymoon with husband James Cromwell. It was here on the slopes of Diamond Head that she found the site for the estate she planned to build. The estate she would latter name Shangri-La.

On this 2-hour tour along the beautiful Pacific Ocean you climb past the historic lighthouse that stands guard on the weathered brow of Diamond Head and travel to the secluded and picturesque Cromwell’s beach. Come prepared to take a dip. As the ocean doorstep of Duke’s Shangri-La estate, she could often be found swimming behind the breakwater or paddling out to surf with her good friend Duke Kahanamoku. Along the way you’ll also be treated to some of the best views on the island from the Amelia Earhart lookout. There are plenty of interesting sights and a few scandalous stories your guide can share with you during several short stops on your journey.

While Diamond Head Hill poses an epic final challenge to tens of thousands of runners in the Honolulu Marathon each year, you’ll hardly notice on one of our 48-volt Pon-e Trikkes. The original carving machine is just as much fun slaloming downhill as it is bombing up the hill with the help of its powerful high-torque electric motor. A short in-store orientation by one of our trained and experienced guides and you’ll be ready to go. Join for an informative, fun and relaxing ride to see some of Honolulu’s most stunning scenery and hidden beaches.
